Bolan Times ( Geneva ): Baloch Republican Party UN representative said that ” The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects between China & Pakistan violate basic human rights including Article 2, 3, 5, 7 and 10 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in Balochistan.”
Baloch Republican Party ( BRP ) Representative wirh Coordination of one ECOSOC NGO delivered his speech today 21st June 2017 in United Nation Office Geneva during ongoing 35th Human Right Council session in UNO Office Geneva Switzerland.
Abdul Bugti , A young Representative in detail said ” The UN Technical Assistance and Capacity building program is a very effective tool in helping developing countries combat poverty and achieve economic prosperity through trade and development. However, we also believe that it should not be limited to UN funded programs but it should also monitor bilateral & international trade agreements between states to ensure human rights standards”
Abdul Bugti further said ” We echo the concerns raised by United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific that CPEC projects could cause further political instability in the region. This is evident in the fact that military operations, enforced disappearances, torture and custodial killings of Baloch people by Pakistani forces have become a part of daily life. Hundreds of thousands have been forced to migrate from the areas along the CPEC route”
In his intervention last he requested that ” This council to play its role to stop massive human rights violation being committed by Pakistan Army in Balochistan to crush local people’s opposition to CPEC. No trade agreements is more important that basic human rights & CPEC should certainly not be an exception”
